Cutting principle

It is becoming somewhat tedious to hear daily of the latest rumours surrounding benefit and financial cuts being considered without any substance and readily dismissed by the coalition government.

One thing that is clear is the intention to restrict benefits to those who really need them and there can be no argument about this as a general principle.

There is no point in giving bus passes, child allowance and heating grants to those who do not need this kind of support as we are now forced to face up to the reality of paying back our massive national debt and our credibility restored in the international money markets.
