Critical mass

Allan Sutherland’s discussion of “Tactical voting” (Letters, 31 March) illustrates “the politics of mass society.” Clearly our post-industrial society is classless and controlled by elites. It could be this is the impetus behind large turnouts and a demand for coalition rule.
