Cringe time over Scots discoveries

WE ARE grateful to Eric Davidson for debunking the myth that many significant scientific discoveries or developments were made by Scots (Letters, 19 January).

Mr Davidson’s advancement of the fact that many prominent Scots developed their careers outwith Scotland as a reason for staying in the Union has to be the most abject and cringeworthy heard to date.

Nae tall poppies in your part of the world then, Mr Davidson?
