Crime bill

A HUGE influx of migrants to Scotland has seen the costs of police translation services soar.

In the past three years there were 14,287 occasions when translators were needed, at a cost of 2 million.

Chief Constable Ian Latimer, of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland, has been reported as saying: "Scotland has been and is continuing to experience significant levels of migration, which brings significant benefits to our increasingly diverse communities." What benefits? Does he mean immigrant crime?

Latimer is one of the new breed of policemen who is not interested in crime reduction but only wants to chant the soundbites that will prove his politically correct credentials.

Can I ask him exactly what benefits these foreign criminals bring to society? Chief constables like Mr Latimer should be concentrating on crime and not politically-correct posturing.

The SNP Government must get tough on foreign crime and tell Mr Latimer, and those of his ilk, to act not talk drivel.
