Credit where due

So now we know. Joyce
McMillan (Perspective, 1 May) tells us that Labour are being punished for being associated with the Tories in the Better Together campaign. This apparently was the final straw.

She also tells us that the Tory-Lib Dem coalition has been the most right-wing British government of the post-war era. Really! This will be cold comfort to the Lib Dems.

Westminster, of course, is to blame for all the ills that have befallen the country. Has our economy not improved since the banking crisis?

Are more people not now in employment? We are assured that the SNP will ensure an end to austerity.

Do they not mean that they will ensure that we continue to borrow beyond our means and that our children and grandchildren end up having to pick up the tab?

Of course with full fiscal autonomy proposed by the SNP the Barnett Formula will be a thing of the past. This will leave a large black hole in our public finances.

I very much hope that electors will know what they are voting for next Thursday.
