Creative Scotland

If someone could tell me anything creative or arts-related that new appointee to Creative Scotland Steve Grimmond has been personally responsible for (your report, 3 August) I would be delighted to be enlightened.

This serial cooncil official with generous pension and £150,000 worth of salary makes a mockery yet again of the idea that the “Quangorati” have the faintest idea of what is good for the arts in Scotland.

What Scotland needs is risk takers, not bean coonters; visionaries, not mercenaries; more creative sparkle, less funding application waffle.

Personally, I couldn’t care less if the entire Creative Scotland board were made up of one legged marzipan Martians as long as they’ve had some real life experience as an artist in Scotland. “One-legged marzipan Martians”. Could Steve Grimmond have come up with that without a three-month consultation exercise?
