Crazy quota

Compulsory all-women candidate lists (your report, 11 January) are a non-starter. What next: all-Asian lists, all-pensioners, all-disabled? If the quota is not filled, do we pick anyone, worthy or not?

The reality is that all should be given a chance, regardless of gender, colour or creed, as long as you are suitable for the job. That is the only way any country can reap the best of its people.
