Concrete fiasco

Aberdeen Council's decision to back Sir Ian Wood's plan to concrete over Union Terrace Garden (your report, 20 May) makes a complete mockery of the public consultation process.

As a town planner and mediator, I am really disappointed by this decision. Local people will now think twice when asked to comment on future developments in the city and this fiasco reinforces the old adage – "money talks".
