Come clean with elderly voters

A FORTNIGHT ago I wrote to the Lib Dems asking for a written guarantee that they will keep the services which Labour brought in to help the elderly. In particular the Winter Fuel Allowance, free eye tests, free medicines, free TV licence, free driving licence, free bus pass, etc.

To date I have received no reply, except for a barrage of literature regarding my Lib Dem candidate, Fred Mackintosh, needing 405 votes to win Edinburgh South.

Nick Clegg, in the second TV debate, ignored and chose not to answer when asked to guarantee these benefits. David Cameron at least guaranteed some of these benefits, but not all.

Only a bombardment of the Lib Dem candidate in each ward, to guarantee these benefits, will lend any credence to the Lib Dems. Accordingly, the future is now in the hands of the voters, especially the elderly.
