Indeed, it was highlighted that one police force does not probe break-ins at odd-numbered houses due to the staffing crisis. Is it not a paradox, therefore, that five English police forces are currently investigating former Prime Minister Edward Heath, a man who has been dead for ten years?
The solution must, surely, be that separate police forces are assigned any future investigations into Sir Robert Peel, William Gladstone and William Pitt the Younger.
