Clean move

I was very pleased to read that Brighton beach could become a smoke-free zone (your report, 22 July).

I find it disappointing and rather disgusting seeing people going for a walk on our beautiful, unspoiled beaches, hills and woods and lighting up a cigarette.

Even in the open air it smells disgusting. And no matter how careful people claim to be, those revolting little cigarette ends are found everywhere and take forever to break down.
