Claws out for cruel cat trapper

I WAS so sorry to read of the cat who was caught in an illegal trap (News, January 8).

What I can’t understand is why anyone would want to impose such cruelty on any animal.

It is abhorrent and the law should be tougher on anyone who sets traps to deliberately ensnare animals.

An immediate bill to abolish traps and snares should be enforced as soon as possible.

The callous culprits who did this, if caught, should be locked away for a very long time. I hope the cat makes a full recovery and has a long happy life ahead of him.
