Civil service role

Only the SNP could have the brass neck to rely on the polls to argue for inclusion in pre-election talks with the civil service (your report, 23 February).

Is this not the party that reminded us last year that the only poll that mattered was the actual election/referendum result (which it lost)?

If I thought this was hypocritical then their re-announcement that every constituent nation in the UK should have a veto on a possible exit from Europe is surely breathtaking in its arrogance.

How does this rate with what they offered the same constituents with regard to a possible Scottish exit from the UK?

It’s a bit hard to treat the SNP as a serious political party at times.
