Chance to be rid of City bankers

THE TV debate between Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling was conducted by two financial illiterates, one who bailed out greedy and incompetent bankers and the other intent upon saddling an independent Scotland with this same ongoing liability.

I voted for the SNP because they could secure independence, not because of their financial acumen. So I shall still vote Yes because Scotland has accumulated a lot of unwanted baggage over the years and I remain confident that in due course we will be able to assemble an astute negotiating team which will secure not only the eventual removal of Trident from Scotland, but also that other weapon of mass economic destruction – the malign influence of the City of London and its banking lobby.
