Celtic tiger hunt

On the same day as the UK Chancellor’s Autumn Statement last week, Ireland had its budget in which prescription charges were increased, jobseekers’ allowance reduced from 12 to nine months, child benefit and maternity benefit cut as well as a litany of other brutal measures.

It is disappointing that the country that we used to be told we should emulate seems no longer to fit the bill for the SNP so the Nationalists ignore what is happening there.

The rest of us don’t and won’t ignore what is going on.
