Cancer risks

Macmillan Cancer Support predicted that by 2020 47 per cent of people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer (your report, 7 June).

To some extent cancer runs in families and I suggest that every patient diagnosed with cancer should be advised to have no more children, so that there would be fewer cancer patients in the next generation.

An operation, such as a vasectomy, to avoid births could be offered and a cash reward of £1,000 could be given.

Huge savings in schooling would be made.
