Calculated risk

I HAVE calculated that the cost of staying in the UK will be less than 1 per cent of the costs involved in any separation. This would be my cost of making our relationship with England better and preferable to just pulling it apart.

Of course, I’ve had to use the same degree of broad estimates, assumptions, guesses, conjectures and vague proofs used by the SNP and so my own massaging of the truth might be out a bit, but in principle I feel that my ratio is about right.

I read that Susan Boyle has figured this out as well (your report, 20 July).
