Burial options

When discussing the need for more burial spaces (your report, 15 July), brief mention was made of cremation. However none was made about "resomation".

Moves are being made for this procedure to become a legitimate form of the disposal of the dead. It is a relatively new procedure, in use in Belgium and certain American states, where the deceased is placed into a sealed chamber and subjected to a chemical process resulting in liquification. There are claims for costs being kept down and less use of scarce burial ground.
