Building trust

While prompt payment is good for business in any industry, I am not as enthusiastic as Michael Levack of the Scottish Building Federation about the public sector paying building contractors particularly speedily, (Letters, 19 April).

Especially in the case of public procurement, commensurate speed of delivery and build quality surely require just as much, if not more, attention.
