Borders no bother
I’m A self-employed Scot, resident in Dumfries. I regularly work in France, Spain, Italy and sometimes in England.
In August, I worked in Galway for two weeks. I travelled by car to Cairnryan, took a ferry to Larne and drove south past Dublin and across Ireland to Galway city. Other than the normal transport-related security checks for the ferry crossing – which was wholly within the UK – I didn’t see anything resembling a border crossing, checkpoint or border post between Northern Ireland (ie the UK) and Ireland (EU).
The only indication that I’d left the UK was when road signs included the Gaelic, and distances were shown in kilometres.
Border problems between Scotland and England in the event of a Yes vote? Why?
