Bitter rift

IT IS beyond parody to hear from weekend reports that
“senior figures” within the SNP are preparing strategies to heal the bitter divisions caused by a hate-filled and often racist campaign. Scotland is more divided than at any time since the 1745 Jacobite rebellion and it beggars belief that people subject to such abuse can “move on” and be “healed” by their abusers.

It was, after all, the SNP leadership which set the tone by turning every televised debate into a stairheed rammy and the cybernats are simply following the party line. For example, Scottish business leaders were bullied and subjected to ill-mannered questioning from Nationalist MSPs when they dared express reservations before a Holyrood committee.

The idea of the SNP working with other parties is also risible because, at every turn in recent Scottish history, Nationalists have acted in a way that maximises party interest.
