Bishops neglect criminal past

IT IS truly appalling that the Roman Catholic hierarchy is neglecting the fact that, not only was there a scandalous cover-up of sexual and physical abuse within their ranks in the past but that the law was being broken.

It also seems to me that society in the past was reluctant to make accusations against the perpetrators openly because of their own links to the Church.

But I think it rich that bishops are now coming out of the woodwork to point the finger rather than to admit to their personal guilt in keeping
quiet. It’s no longer good enough to say they were only obeying orders. Where have we heard that excuse before?

The present situation needs to be handled by the legal system and not kept in-house by religious institutions.
