Beyond belief

With disbelief I watch, Alistair Darling, Labour’s last Chancellor of the Exchequer, having the gall to berate the Scots and Alex Salmond, in particular, for pulling the trigger on the starting pistol on the campaign to seek independence.

Is this the same Mr Darling, who along with former Labour prime minister Gordon Brown, played a major part in bringing the United Kingdom to the brink of bankruptcy, selling off our gold, losing control of the banks and rewarding one banker with a knighthood for his role in nearly destroying the RBS?

On the face of it, Scotland now seems to have better deals for its citizens, a superior judicial system, a better education system, a healthy engineering base and more care for its elderly and sick… something from which our present PM David Cameron should learn a thing or two.
