Being happy

The 2015 UK Optimism Audit found that just three in ten of us are happy – with relationships, money and unfulfilling jobs named among the reasons so many feel depressed.

As someone who prefers an ordered life, my eye was caught by the fact that 70 per cent feel trapped in the same old routine and most believe just one change would improve their lives.

In fact, studies show that most of us have a set level of happiness and that after a life-changing event we return to that set point, so feeling miserable has more to do with our personality.
