Bannockburn clash

The 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn merits a major ceremony, and admission prices similar to a football match are not unreasonable.

Who decided, when, and why, to mount a spectacular free parade at the same time and place?

This is the first, and no doubt the last, time that Armed Forces Day has been proposed to be held in Stirling. Its date or place or both must be changed. If the “powers that be” insist on going ahead with a clash of dates, then there can be no doubt that this is a deliberate move to sabotage the Bannockburn event, and thereby a major tourist and historical occasion.
