Balancing act

I AM much encouraged to see the SNP’s bold, and frankly nonsensical, assertion that the United Kingdom was the fourth most unequal country in the world has been challenged.

Of the six countries listed ­(Letters, 15 November) one could perhaps add, without fear of contradiction, China, India, Indonesia and Russia, thereby concluding that more than half the world population live in countries less equal than the United Kingdom.
