Baggage check

The proposals by Global Infrastructure Partners for further improvements to Edinburgh Airport (Business, 27 May) are to be commended.

However, attention requires to be paid to baggage delivery 
services – in particular at international arrivals.

On Saturday, 25 May, five international flights arrived in the early afternoon at roughly the same time, with the baggage from the Palma flight taking more than an hour to arrive on the luggage carousel.

My experience is that such delays at Edinburgh are not uncommon, while at Glasgow Airport they are able to deliver hold baggage in much less time.

It is an inconvenience, at the very least, to travellers returning from holiday, but it does not present well to visitors as an introduction to the capital.
