Axe set to fall

Now we have a London government that mostly believes that being a nurse in a private hospital is more meaningful (at least economically) than being a nurse in an NHS hospital.

To help reduce the fiscal deficit, cutbacks must be made in the public sector, and fewer people must be unemployed – though how laying off public sector employees can contribute to raising employment is a conundrum that perhaps only the new London ministers comprehend. I don't.

Going by the poll figures it appears Scotland's electorate doesn't share many of the core beliefs of the new administration. The economic mess we are told we are in was caused by the rampant misbehaving of the financial private sector.

Mind you, many banking employees are being laid off but few of them were the ones who misbehaved. I hope my despondent summary of these matters is misguided. However, I don't think so.
