On 30 March, your lead  letter was from Dr Alan Rodger regarding the failings of the NHS under the oversight of the SNP government.

Dr Rodger particularly commented on the provision of radiotherapy services in Scotland and compared this unfavourably with the situation in Australia in even the smallest centres in small regional and rural towns where radiotherapy centres exist.

Naively, I had anticipated a response from someone from the health ministry, the NHS or the professional body of radiotherapists as to why we appear to be lagging behind in this field.

Is it lack of knowledge or money or what? Or is it deemed to be of interest only to cancer sufferers?
