Alba forever

Advertised in Scottish newspapers, BBC Alba is available on Freeview Channel 8. Yet, for us exiled Scots, resident in England, it is not on Freeview here, although it is available on Sky. Many of us old geezers cannot afford the high cost of Sky.

I recall last year discovering BBC Alba was doing a Hogmanay ceilidh, after we switched off the staid, stuck, old format from the BBC New Year party.

So we got the tail end of the BBC Alba party. It was brilliant, way beyond the talents of the STV and BBC productions. This time I will record the Hogmanay ceilidh from 11:15pm to 01:30am, thanks to BBCi.

But please, in future, let us ex-pats have access to Alba on Freeview, live.
