Airport parking

BAA has avoided the Competition Commission's ruling of having to divest itself of Glasgow or Edinburgh airport by appealing and winning on a technicality. So it is with dismay that we find out that BAA's parking franchise at Edinburgh has increased parking charges by another eye-watering hyperinflationary 8.3 per cent to £19.50 a day. This increase comes hard on the heels of the 14 per cent increase imposed in October.

BAA clearly has scant regard in these difficult economic times for its long-suffering customers. This would appear to be a clear example of exploiting a dominant marketing position and the Competition Commission must press on to break up BAA to stop this rip-off of business and leisure travellers.
