Aberdeen poll report errors

YOUR analysis of the Aberdeen Donside by-election (16 June) contained a number of factual inaccuracies.

It wrongly stated that, in relation to the billion-pound investment package in Aberdeen from the SNP, none of the buildings are yet built. In fact, almost all are built and fully-functioning: the four new schools in Aberdeen Donside, and the dental hospital and emergency care centre at Foresterhill. It is also incorrect to say that the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route is tied up in a legal dispute. This saga thankfully came to an end last October, and work is now under way on this much-needed bypass, after decades of delay.

The excellent result for the SNP’s Mark McDonald in this week’s by-election was a strong vote of confidence in this billion-pound package of investment, in the Scottish Government, and of course the legacy of the late Brian Adam.
