A9 is a killer road

I do hope the anguished call from 14 serving clergymen for Scotland’s most dangerous road – the A9 – to be dualled as a matter of great urgency will prompt some serious consideration.

Their moving appeal has been motivated because they have “no wish” to conduct any more funerals for crash victims killed on this notorious road.

On holiday recently we had to cross the A9 a couple of times at an already dualled section of the road. That was difficult enough with the volume of traffic, and I have witnessed the additional danger facing motorists on the single carriageway sections many times.

That such a large number of Scottish people, tourists and other road users have to continue to dice with death on a daily basis on this killer road in this day and age is unacceptable.
