A deadly delay

A stitch in time could have saved us from what now may well pan out to be a worldwide medical event in the march of the Ebola virus through and out of Africa.

Why does the World Health Organisation (WHO) operate at all if it can’t bounce, fully researched and fully rehearsed, into immediate action when such an experienced, capable and august front-line operative as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) flags up a very serious warning, as it did back in March concerning difficulties in containing the spread of this deadly virus.

Ebola and its dark refusal to be countered by medical means has been known about for a long time.
