JIM Murphy continues to push for the resurgence of the Scottish Labour party under his leadership. His latest gambit being a pledge to nationalise Scotland’s railways.

Scotland’s railways would be returned to the public sector in a new non-profit ScotRail franchise under Labour, the party’s leader pledged.

It is a pledge that follows hot on the heels of his vow to stop fracking taking place in Scotland if he is elected as first minister – saying he would not allow the country to be a “guinea pig” for the controversial drilling technique.
