The Scotsman cartoon: A wake up call for Darling

Senior Conservatives have reportedly labelled Better Together campaign head Alistair Darling as “comatose”.

A Downing Street source was also quoted in the Financial Times as describing Mr Darling as a “dreary figurehead” for such an important campaign.

Last year Tory figures backed the appointment of Mr Darling as head of the campaign.
