Talk of the Town: Tennis ace’s side pays penalties

Linlithgow tennis star Colin Fleming was part of the Andy Murray-less Great Britain Davis Cup side which roared back from two matches down for the first time since 1930 to beat Russia 3-2.

Fleming was half of the doubles pair which kept GB in the tie on Saturday, and had a watching brief on Sunday as his teammates finished the job.

But the hot Scot’s mind was on Livingston, no less, where his beloved Partick Thistle were playing for the Ramsdens Cup against Queen of the South.

Despite a late comeback of their own, however, there was no joy for Fleming as the Jags lost on penalties.

It’s a bit of a cover-up

IT got our attention – a “Naked Networking” event will be held in the Capital next week.

And, the invite reveals, there will be a buffet and bar, which is not to be sniffed at.

But, alas, the King James Thistle Hotel won’t be put under siege by those normally suited and booted in the buff . . .

Reading on, the invitation reveals it will the presentations that are “stripped back” and not the businessmen and women.
