Talk of the Town: Subo show over Down Under

SHE dreamed a dream, but for fans of Susan Boyle in Australia, their plans have turned into a nightmare.

Performances in Melbourne and Sydney have been scrapped and 10,000 fans offered refunds after a “scheduling conflict”.

The I Dreamed a Dream musical charts the life of the West Lothian songstress, who shot to fame after wowing Simon Cowell and fellow judges during Britain’s Got Talent, and stars comedian Elaine C Smith in the lead role.

But producers have insisted the musical can still be a smash hit in London’s West End, with one of them, Bob Morton, who is also Smith’s husband, insisting SuBo fans had been going “bananas” after the show was scrapped.

Cyrenians shake it up

IT’S the dance craze thrusting its way around the world – with students, clubbers and office workers from the Capital all performing their own versions of Brooklyn-based producer Baauer’s Harlem Shake.

And now volunteers from the Edinburgh Cyrenians Good Food programme are getting involved.

The group who work to feed thousands of homeless and vulnerable people in the Capital have posted their efforts on YouTube.
