The singer, who recently appeared in designer latex and lace for a shoot in an American magazine, said: “Luckily I had a very stylish mum, so I’d go rifling through her closet when I needed something to wear.

“She had lots of stuff from the 1960s, so I was rocking a pretty cool wardrobe.”

SCOTTISH Secretary Michael Moore may need to tread a little more carefully around the minefield of independence.

Mr Moore found himself at the centre of some unwanted heckling yesterday during a debate in the Scottish Parliament after earlier making remarks which suggested he hadn’t realised Holyrood lacked the power to change the voting age for council elections to allow 16 and 17 year olds to take part.

Green leader Patrick Harvie proposed the Scottish Parliament should seize the opportunity, suggesting that if Mr Moore was so relaxed about the idea of Holyrood having this power, surely he would have no problem handing it over?

Pandas bring culture

NOW that poorly panda Yang Guang is on the mend, the couple will no doubt be thinking ahead to how they will celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Edinburgh Zoo will be making sure their first in Scotland is a memorable occasion, and now people are being given the chance to take part – by eating a panda.

Panda Liquorice strawberry bears, a healthy snack produced to tie-in with the arrival of the giant pandas, suggested that with red being the lucky colour of the Chinese, these tasty treats would be the perfect way to celebrate the Year of the Water Dragon.

The pandas themselves are expected to stick to bamboo.

JANUARY is not just about us trying to lose the pounds we’ve piled on over the festive season, with news that 63 per cent of pet owners plan to put their furry friend on a diet.

The research by Pets at Home suggested 94 per cent of these people were planning to starve their pets without seeking advice.
