Talk of the Town: Castle leaves duo vertically challenged

THEY are the madcap Irish signing duo whose product-laden vertical hair has gone unchallenged – until now.

Jedward’s trip to Edinburgh Castle to film CBBC’s Jedward’s Big Adventure ended with the pair’s trademark blond hair being forced sideways.

Executive producer Chris Pilkington told Talk of the Town: “We’ve been all over the UK and the only place their hair was blown sideways was in Edinburgh. You would not believe how much product goes on to their hair, but it was somehow defeated by the winds at Edinburgh Castle.”

He added: “The highlight of their trip was wearing tartan. They got so carried away in the tartan shop we ended up an hour and a half behind schedule. The only saving grace was we got some shots of them jumping around in kilts shouting ‘I love Scotland’.”

In the care of nurse Porter

NEXT time you’re unlucky enough to end up in hospital, take time to have a look at who the nurse is - it could be TV presenter Gail Porter.

The mum of one has revealed she might move into healthcare after taking part in a documentary.

She is reported as saying: “I would love to get out of the limelight and be a nurse. I got a lovely letter from the family of someone I’d looked after. I just felt I was doing some good.”

Don’t dilly-Dalai

AS Talk of the Town reported last month, the Dalai Lama’s lecture at the Usher Hall proved to be the hottest ticket in town, with seats selling out in no time at all.

Anyone who missed out has one last chance to catch him while he’s in Scotland though – tickets are released today for his visit to Dundee’s Caird Hall.

But you’d better be quick off the mark – visit organiser Victor Spence said: “If anything, we think that tickets could sell out even more quickly for this event than for the other two.”

Parents’ pillow talk

WHILE most parents are generally delighted to brag about their children’s achievements, they are generally less keen to talk about their offspring’s problems.

So news that 41 per cent of Capital parents have never talked to other mums and dads about their child wetting the bed – courtesy of a survey by bedwetting experts (their words) DryNites – isn’t too surprising.

Of course, that also means that a staggering 59 per cent have happily talked about their child’s nocturnal problems.
