Lord David Steel of Aikwood is perhaps smarter than you think (“Steel’s sharp rebuke dulled by delay”, your report, 16 August).
By “murmuring” Scotland’s First Minister and Justice Secretary during the Edinburgh Festival his comments will, of course, have been heard by any visiting UK Supreme Court judges.
