A plea for new legislation to toughen dog control laws was made by Labour MSP Paul Martin yesterday.
Martin believes a list of restricted dog breeds should be drawn up to impose conditions on owners of the restricted breeds.
Dog owners would also be required to ensure the restricted breeds were only walked by people over 16, who were capable of controlling them.
