The Conservative’s work programme is the subject of today’s cartoon

Iain Duncan Smith will today insist that his controversial work programme is delivering and announce two more pilot schemes to get the long-term unemployed into jobs.

After the Chancellor announced a £300 million scheme where people will have to work for their Jobseeker’s Allowance, Mr Duncan Smith will announce at the conference pilot schemes where claimants will be required to attend job centres for 35 hours a week for six months.
