Scotland on Sunday launches new The Week section

It has been a long time since the Scotland on Sunday changed significantly and these decisions are never made lightly, we know the perils of taking away the familiar have to be offset by the benefits of giving something new and fresh.

But we think that with our new section The Week we are giving you a great new showcase for in-depth reporting, top-class writing and interesting new platforms as well as comprehensive arts coverage including established favourites from our old Review section like Books, Films, Music and 7-day TV listings.

Probably the biggest change is that Business has been brought in to the main paper, along with Money and Appointments. We’ve also given the package a makeover to modernise it a little, and Sport, Spectrum and AtHome remain as strong as ever.

It has also unfortunately been necessary to increase the cover price, but even at £1.80 – less than our competitor national quality newspapers, and about the same price as a cup of coffee or a half pint of beer – we think it still represents great value for money.

Please let me know what you think of all the changes we have made either by e-mailing me direct at [email protected] , or writing to me at 108 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8AS, or using the comment function on this article, or taking part in the webchat I will be holding next Wednesday at 10am.

I do hope you will like the new-look Scotland on Sunday, but if you do or if you don’t please let me know.
