John Gibson: Laura takes time out to paint

Where there is despair, may we bring hope (Thatcher, 2013).

Far from despairing, Laura Pastorelli, when holding a job as a clinical scientist at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary has her art sideline. She paints and she exhibits her works on the walls of the Leaf and Bean Coffee Shop on Comiston Road. Herewith, a sample, a painting of the nearby Morningside landmark clock. Attractive, isn’t is?

Laura, 30, and Leaf and Bean owner Lindsay’s son Tom were enjoying a refreshment in the pub across the road, which led to the paintings on the wall. She has sold three so far.
