Graeme Atha: Celebrating the very best in the business

Last night more than 550 marketing professionals gathered at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh to celebrate the best in the industry at the Marketing Society Star Awards.

Carol Graham, Marketing Director at Graham’s The Family Dairy was awarded the prestigious Marketing Star of the Year recognising the growth of the business over the last few years to become the number one dairy brand in Scotland in a highly competitive market.

MTV presenter and the Star Awards host Laura Whitmore announced the winners in a wide variety of categories from the Development Awards which includes the Star School and Star Student prizes as well as recognising the Rising Stars in the industry.

Awards are also given in three other categories – Strategic, Communication and Sector celebrating success across all aspects of marketing.

The final category is the Champion Awards, which include the Chairman’s Awards for First Time Entrants as well as Small to Medium Sized Enterprises

The Scottish Government won Marketing Team of the Year recognising the wide range of award winning work they are responsible for which helps makes Scotland and healthier and better place to live.

The Agency Team of the Year went to The Leith as result of their overall performance on the night and across the year with a range of significant new business wins including The Famous Grouse, Scottish Power and RBS.

The Agency Star of the Year was awarded to Sarah Rowe from The Union for her involvement in some of their award winning entries as well as her performance in the agency and her commitment to training and the industry in general.

Paul Condron, Marketing Director at Tennent’s and the Star Awards Chair commented “tonight really was the celebration of a world leading marketing community in Scotland”
