A manhunt was launched after he failed to turn up for a hearing in February.

He was found living on a carvan site on the outskirts of the popular Spanish holiday destination

Austin was jailed after he was caught with 39 sickening images and 15 clips on his home computer.

A campsite source said: “Undercover police took him away. It was done very discreetly and very few people on the campsite found out about it.”

It later emerged that he was jailed in 1992 for sex assaults on men in Canada.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The Fugitives Unit can confirm that a 47-year-old man has been arrested by authorities in Spain in connection with offences in Scotland.”
