Olympic star will take talent agency to court

Former Olympic athlete Brian Whittle is suing a talent agency over claims that he was not paid.

Whittle's action against TalentNation, set up by the former editor of the Scottish Sun Steve Sampson to give youngsters advice from sporting heroes, is due to be called at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.

The site, billed as "sport's biggest social network", allows aspiring sports stars to upload videos and access advice from sporting figures.

The site has previously attracted a 1 million investment from Scottish enterprise as well as backing from footballers Scott Brown and Kenny Miller.

Whittle competed at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 and has won two gold medals at European Championships.

He is the first star to take action but others are considering proceedings. Craig MacKenzie, brother of the former Sun editor Kelvin, has already claimed the company owes money in unpaid fees.
