It has been reported that about 20 firefighters are at the scene on South Deeside Road after receiving a call at 3.22pm.

The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and no injuries have been reported so far.

Local traffic and news watchdog Fubar News said traffic in the area is slow as emergency services continue to deal with the ongoing incident.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area while the fire is being extinguished.

It is understood the former pub building is about 200 years old and has previously been reported as one of Aberdeenshire's “historic” buildings.
