Oil worker dies in blast

RESCUERS were last night searching for a man missing after an explosion at an oil refinery.

The oil worker, who has not been named, was working close to a crude oil distillation unit which exploded at the Lindsey Oil Refinery in North Lincolnshire, at about noon yesterday.

More than 50 firefighters from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service tackled the huge blaze.

In a statement oil company Total, which runs the refinery, said "All adjacent units have been safely isolated. The roll call is complete and one person, known to be working in the immediate area, is currently unaccounted for."
